Scrumptious Sicilian Gluten Free Cannoli

Did you know, Cannoli are heavenly Italian pastries that originated on the island of Sicily. These delicious morsels are tubular shells of fried pastry dough filled with something creamy and sweet such as chocolate, hazelnut or ricotta cream are the icon of Sicilian pastries. Today there are many variations on the traditional and so plenty of ways to present and add finishing touches. Some favourites include chocolate chips, candied fruit or pistachio brittle. At Diforti a Sicilian family run company, we have given a twist of our own to the conventional cannoli.

 

 

We are proud to present our Gluten free Cannoli to add to our range of sweet treats on offer! Made with a honey and almond casing instead of the traditional fried dough and also featuring the classic addition of chocolate they are definitely worth getting excited for. Made without wheat and suitable for vegetarians. Our flavours include Hazelnut Chocolate, Pistachio and Salted Caramel, all of which pair perfectly with a rich cup of coffee and can be eaten all year round. Expect a wonderful crunch from the tube casing followed by the smoothness of the creamy filling to make for a perfectly balanced eating experience that should be savoured slowly…if you can resist!
