Originating from Bologna, Mortadella is a large cylindrical meat, produced from heat-cured pork and flavoured with black pepper. Similar to a typical English luncheon meat, Mortadella has a delicate sweetness in flavour. The perfect starting point for any authentic Italian food platter, Mortadella is delicious when joined by creamy cheeses such as Ricotta or Mozzarella and is an excellent addition to sandwiches and paninis.
